Owner, operator and lead photographer of Jill C. Smith Photography. I have 10 years of experience in this field, and just as much time as a mom. I distinctly remember the first time I opened my child's backpack to see their new school photos. Such an exciting milestone! I was honestly shocked at how bad they were. It was clear from the photos that my autistic son had no time to get comfortable in front of the camera or with the photographer. These photos didn't represent the child I knew and loved at all. Since then, I've made it my mission provide local parents with an alternative: Natural, authentic photos that truly capture who a child truly is. I've since provided hundreds of families in the Sullivan County Catskills with genuine, and timeless portraits of the little people they love the most. Photos they actually want to print and hang on their walls.
How It Works
1. Book Your School
You'll get to choose a date for your school's picture day at this time.
2. Meet with Jill.
Jill will come to your school to sit down with your office staff to get your school info loaded into the database and ready for Picture Day.
3. Picture Day
This is the big day! Picture Day is so much fun. Jill will come to your school with minimal gear and get set up in a designated location.
4. Photos are delivered!
Within 2-4 weeks, your student galleries will be delivered directly to the parent/guardian emails.

FAQs
What services do you offer?
We operate entirely online, offering families access to password-protected online ordering galleries. Each child has their own gallery to which each family can access. Each child receives 2-5 images, available in both color and black and white. Families have the flexibility to choose the photos they want printed, rather than having a pose pre-selected for them. Additionally, we offer boutique product options such as canvas gallery wraps and digital images for future printing and archiving. Detailed guides outlining the ordering process and photo day preparations are provided to each school for distribution to families ahead of the scheduled photo day.
Is my school too big?
We have provided serviced schools with as many as 450 children. We have worked with hundreds, if not thousands of kids ages 0-18.
Is this going to be expensive?
There is no upfront cost to the school or families. Families just purchase the photos they love once they are delivered. Our digital and print products are priced competitively and in line with industry standards. Families have found our price point to be in line with the big box school photo services they've worked with in the past. When do we need to book?
Lifestyle school photos can be scheduled for any time of year. Many schools like to schedule more traditional indoor photos for the beginning of the school year, and have us return again in the spring, for outdoor photos.
What about class photos?
Not a problem! If the school needs class photos we will take them either on photo do or arrange another time to come and take them.
