Why I Include Black and White Versions of Each Photo in Your Gallery

Writer's picture: Jill SmithJill Smith

Did you know that all of my clients' galleries include black and white versions of each photo?

Why do I offer this?

Believe it or not, there's a lot that goes into making a photo black and white CORRECTLY. Yes, I could just hit a button to change the color to greyscale, but that's not enough, and I wouldn't be satisfied.

I also demand (of myself) that there be consistency in my galleries, and a style that's unique to me.

So, in an effort to deter my clients from editing photos from their galleries themselves (psst, you're not supposed to do that! :-P), I now include professionally edited black and white copies, as well as color.

Well, it just so happened that when I converted Eric and Kaci's engagement session to black and white, well, I fell in love with the black and white!

Kaci, to me, looks like a movie star, from the 40's or 50's. She has such elegant features and is insanely photogenic. And of course, Eric is cute too! ;-)

Anyway, these two just belong in black and white. I cannot wait for their wedding this fall. I know it's going to be one for the books!

As always, thank you for trusting me.
