As a family photographer, one question I often get asked is why I don't give away raw files from photo sessions. While I understand that some folks may want the ability to edit and manipulate their own photos, there are several reasons why I prefer to deliver edited, high-quality JPEG images instead.
First and foremost, raw files are not finished products. They require specialized software and expertise to edit properly. When I deliver edited JPEG images, you are receiving a finished product that has been carefully crafted to showcase the beauty and connection of your family. I take pride in my work and want to make sure that you receive images that you will treasure for years to come.
Secondly, raw files are often very large and take up a lot of storage space. You may not have the necessary software or equipment to even view or edit them. On the other hand, JPEG images are much smaller in size and can easily be shared with family and friends, or printed for display in your home.
But don't worry, just because I don't offer raw files doesn't mean that you won't have any control over your images. I always provide my clients with a selection of edited, high-quality JPEG images to choose from. These images have been carefully selected and edited to showcase the beauty and connection of your family, and you will have the ability to choose which images you want to keep and which ones you want to display in your home.
In addition, I offer a variety of products and services to help you make the most of your images. From high-quality prints and albums to digital downloads and wall art, there are many ways to display and cherish your family photos.
So while I understand the appeal of raw files, I believe that delivering edited JPEG images is the best way to provide my clients with high-quality, finished products that they will treasure for years to come. And with a variety of products and services to choose from, you can rest assured that you will have beautiful, lasting memories of your family to cherish.
